mo. building websites does cost, a hosting and bandwidth fee and a domain name fee.

However, I feel that netlabels are great for people like myself who are disillusioned with how record labels treat us artists. Netlabels give us a way to control what happens with our music.

Only recently i was contacted by an artist who releases material via a commercial record label who wanted to release their material via my netlabel. Which means things are changing these days, with more and more artists going free, can only be a good thing for us netlabel owners and artists who where hear first.

I am agree with all of you guys. Especially netlabel is an alternative way to promote music/band while they never get a deal with label.

Here's in Indonesia also have a netlabel too..its called Yes No Wave Music. Check it out...

The greatest thing is being able to hear music OUTSIDE of the hype and fashion that is generated by the demo->label->mtv/radio->success model. It's wonderful to hear stuff that people do for their own reasons, not because it's what they think the label wants or because it's what the label thinks the kids want.

Yeah, and the fact it's pure heaven for obscurists!

that's why I liked netlabels in the first place: they do what they want, and they can do it, because building websites cost nothing. and that's the chance for everyone!

6. Because you never know what you're going to get.
7. It's proof that the internet is not just for spam and porn.
8. It provides an outlet for musicians who can't/won't get signed to a "major" label.
9. It makes us feel good.
10. The music prompts enthusiasts to start good websites like Phlow. :-)
